Hierarchy
In typography, hierarchy is a sort of eye magnet (design elements that attract viewer's attention) that involves putting different emphasis in the fonts in a design to direct the viewer's eye movement so that they will be able to understand the producer's preferred reading better.
Example from Medium
White Space
White spaces refers to the empty space in a design which guides the viewer's attention towards certain elements in a design. This can be used to create a cohesive and pleasing design. Additionally, white space can be used to enhance meaning. For example, an abundance of white space creates a feeling of emptiness or solitude whereas a lack of whitespace could create a crowded or suffocated feeling.
Contrast
Contrast in typography can be used to communicate emphasised ideas to the viewer and create an interesting design. Contrast can be created by using varying fonts, sizes, boldness, colour etc.

Self-Reflection:
- This research was very helpful when doing my digipak as it allowed me to know what fonts I could use to create meaning. For example, I chose handwriting fonts as it connotes childishness and causality but included a serif font for contrast and readability
