Behind the Scenes
This section of my blog will be for the behind the scenes of my magazine photoshoots
Schedule
I created a schedule to communicate my plans with my family and to keep myself organized
Double Page Spread _ Content Page Images (Ghost Hunting)
I shot the the first pictures for the magazine as scheduled. I initially came at day time but it was too bright and since there was
Galungan
, it was quite crowded as my cousins were all visiting. I came back later at 6PM when everything was calmer and it had become darker which helped me achieve my desired effect
My sister struggled with appearing natural in the photo shoots so I hid some little star sequins for her to find which made the shots feel more realistic

I shot these pictures in the Tegalalang area. It was hard as my shots were limited to only being able to be taken from the car as it wasn't possible for us to park so I could get out. However, I believe this would add a more realistic 'taken in the moment' affect that my magazine could benefit from as it made it look like an attempt to capture a paranormal encounter
Originally, I also wanted to visit a nearby antique shop for some pictures as antique items were associated with being 'haunted' due to their old age but terrible traffic and limited time made it impossible. Instead, I used the images I took of my sister 'ghost hunting' and I believe this would suit my purpose fine as it would in fact relate stronger to my ghost hunting article
Front Cover Images
The clothes I chose for my model were inspired by the outfits people typically associate with ghost hunters and as she is modeling a ghost hunter, practicality would be prioritised over style. We decided that this outfit would suit best as it matched what we were aiming for
I chose to shoot in daytime in my sister's room as the lighting was better. I struggled at finding the right angle. Eventually, with my sister's feedback I managed to find the shot that worked best
Reflection:
I usually have a hard time planning things so I created a schedule which helped me coordinate shooting times with involved parties
I was really disappointed with not being able to take the pictures in the antique shop as it limited my image options however I was able to work through this problem by taking varied shots during my shooting
I didn't feel confident during shooting as I felt like my other family members didn't take my work seriously but continuing anyways helped me focus on my task.
It was my first time working on my own with a model so I struggled in communicating at first. However, after discussing with my model and asking for her feedback, we were eventually able to get good shots
